5 Tips for making laundry fun!

Hi friends!!! We probably all dread laundry day- amiright? Just knowing we can’t make it go away.  I’ve listed below some tips and tricks to make it painless. 

1. If you find laundry to be a burden either do it more frequently or less often.

Whether it’s doing laundry every day, spreading it out throughout the week or all at once. With me having a family of four I find it easier to do it three times a week. Typically this is Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This make it less stressful and more manageable.

2. Don’t think of it as laundry day friends.

I miss watching TV, listening to an amazing podcast or singing and dancing throughout the day. This is why I secretly look forward to laundry day. With streaming media, audiobooks, and podcasts available on demand, I can get my fill while washing, ironing, and putting away clothes. Think of ways to make your laundry time fun and filled with things you love doing.

3. Fold it - Fold it fast!

My number one would be fold your clothes right when they get out of the dryer. I used to let them hang out in the dryer for days at time or even in the basket. This would drive me bonkers. It's more efficient to fold the clothes as you take them out of the dryer, and it will prevent your clothes from getting super wrinkly.

4. Get the kiddos involved.

There's something about assigning family members a piece of the pie that just helps get the job done, no matter the chore. I soon realized if each kid has there own bin they can bring there dirty clothes down for washing and putting the clean ones away. I was doing it all before. Brining it down - and putting them away- not no more! Now they are all apart of this new initiative to ease laundry day.

5. Laundry rooms need to be functional and pretty.

Our poor laundry room has definitely been overlooked when it comes to cute decor, but just because a space is utilitarian doesn’t mean it can’t be cute too. Add some fun wallpaper or adorable baskets to spice up the space. Also, invest in a washer and dryer that will make your day even more fun. That’s what we did with our Samsung washer and Dryer. Bixby is super fun to use, it can be used to steam our clothing and makes our space complete.

So, if laundry is getting you down, throw out the script, and try whichever strategy you aren't using right now. You might be surprised how much happier it makes you.
